Quantum includes a visual refresh, called Photon, that "feels fast, fluid, and at home with modern operating systems".
With all the good news and announcements, Mozilla is launching a new Firefox campaign.
Mozilla's mission of keeping the web open and neutral will further proliferate with its launch of the new stable version of Firefox quantum browser.
Mozilla has made the biggest update of the time since the Mozilla Firefox has been launched. Do many of you now use Firefox?
One of the best things about the Firefox Quantum is its ability to handle multiple tabs with minimum RAM usage. It has a new engine based on Rust, the language Mozilla has developed for the objective, and incorporates part of the experimental Servo engine that has been gradually replacing Gecko for some months already. Users will be very reluctant to make Firefox their default browser until they are sure they won't lose access to their personal data and to sites they have come to rely on.
The updated version also has a new screenshot tool which offers you the option to take clips of pages.
It is unknown just how much Mozilla was compensated by Google to make the change, but in its previous contract with Yahoo, it was being paid $375 million per year. Likewise, Mozilla has improved the Pocket integration on Quantum which will now display Pocket recommendations alongside your most visited pages. The library button clubs shortcuts to Pocket saves, bookmarks, browser screenshots, downloads and browsing history in a single window. With a possible boost in income, we could see Firefox become a real force in the browser game again.
"If you go and install it right now, you'll immediately notice the difference, accompanied by a feeling of mild euphoria", Mayo said in a blogpost introducing Firefox Quantum.
