Ozil came in for criticism from former Reds midfielder and club legend Steven Gerrard for his limp display at Stoke last week as the Gunners lost 1-0, but Klopp still believes the Germany worldwide is a special player.

The 28-year-old was made one of the scapegoats as Arsenal suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season last weekend when they were beaten 1-0 by Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.

However, he is often criticised for failing to fulfil his defensive duties and is sometimes perceived to have negative body language.

Speaking at his news conference before Arsenal's trip to Liverpool on Friday, Klopp said: "I remember the 3-3 here".

New Confederate Monument Dedicated in Alabama
Many cities across the country are taking down Confederate monuments, but there's now a new one in Alabama. This monument is the 3rd Confederate monument in the private property Confederate Veterans Memorial Park.

Mesut Ozil who played all minutes in the encounter has now expressed sadness for their embarrassing loss claiming Liverpool deserved to win the encounter. It was one long ball - Giroud gave it to Mesut and there were five players on him, but we had no chance. If people aren't happy with him, I don't know why.

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has been linked with a shock move to the Bundesliga. Germany is really blessed with a lot of world-class or close to world-class players in his position and he is a fix in the German national team.

'So he's always a very important player for Germany and I don't know why people criticise him'.

World Cup victor Ozil's future remains a source of speculation, with the playmaker not having yet signed a new contract with Arsenal. Ozil went onto promise Arsenal fans that he and his teammates will bounce back in their next game which is scheduled for September 9.
