Gayle, Samuels recalled for ODI series against England

West Indies batters Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels have been included in the 15-member ODI squad for the series in England.

The squad is still missing Dwayne Bravo and Sunil Narine, both of whom have indicated they are willing to return to worldwide cricket - in bravo's case after an absence of nearly three years.

"Narine has, however, confirmed his desire to play 50-over cricket again but has asked to play in our Regional Super50 before he is considered - and Darren said he was not available for selection".

Dwayne Bravo is not fit enough to travel, although CWI suggested the trio could all be in line for recalls ahead of the next World Cup.

" Dwayne Bravo said he is still not 100 per cent fit, but is looking at a possible return to global cricket next year". He has 724 runs at an average of over 50 in the 20 List A games till now.

The chairman of the selection panel of Cricket West Indies, Courtney Browne, told the BBC that Gayle and Samuels will "add value to our batting and help with the nurturing of the young batsmen in the team".

John Stamos celebrates turning 54 in his birthday suit
Thank you for the lovely birthday wishes. "To stumble safely this far together is a real wonder", he added. Who knows what the next year will bring, but keep doing the Sta-most, Uncle Jesse.

Allrounder Dwayne Bravo remains on the sidelines with the injury he sustained in last season's Big Bash League in Australia.

The five-match ODI series will be played between 19th and 29th September.

Veteran seamer Jerome Taylor is another back in the squad which begins its campaign with a one-off ODI against Ireland in Belfast on September 13 before facing England in a five-match Royal London Series.

The team's regular policy is that players are only picked for worldwide matches if they feature in the same format in home games.

Darren Bravo made himself unavailable for the series despite issuing an apology to WICB President Dave Cameron after a twitter spat saw Bravo exiled from the West Indies team.
