Its all-aluminum chassis sports a black brushed hairline finish and red accents, and houses essential gaming technologies for casual gamers. According to the company, the new convertible is being marketed to casual gamers, with Acer saying it is a ideal fit for multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games. The device also comes with Intel's 8th gen processors, which should offer slightly improved performance than the previous generation.

The centerpiece of the convertible is of course its 15.6-inch IPS display, which has a Full HD screen resolution. In terms of battery life, Acer claims the Nitro 5 Spin delivers up to 10 hours of battery life, which is certainly very impressive for a gaming laptop.

As expected, the first products based around the new CPUs are coming to light, with Acer being one of the first OEMs to take the plunge with the Nitro 5 Spin, a 2-in-1 version of the company's Nitro 5 gaming laptop.

To keep the gaming going strong, Acer's omni-directional ExoAmp Antenna optimizes the Nitro 5 Spin's antenna position to ensure a stable wireless signal, regardless of the antenna being located beneath the notebook's metal cover and the direction the device is facing. "Power users will also appreciate the great performance and battery life of the Nitro 5 Spin, while enjoying the superb visuals and immersive audio that it delivers". "The convertible 2-in-1 is flexible, lightweight and powerful enough for a good gaming experience, and with Windows 10 and access to Microsoft's productivity applications and services, it's a great multipurpose PC at an affordable price." said Peter Han, the Vice President of Partner Devices and Solutions at Microsoft.

Full specifications and available configurations of the Acer Nitro 5 Spin are not yet known, but Acer says that the gaming 2-in-1 will be available in October with a starting price of $999 in the United States and €1,199 in Europe.
