CASO in Hajin: Militant opens fire; two cops, army man injured

Militants injured two policemen and an army jawan in firing after the security forces launched a search operation at Hajin area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Sunday morning.

Rising Kashmir has learnt that the injured policemen were identified as Mukhtar Ahmed and Muhmmad Ashraf while army man was indentified as Sepoy Raj Kumar of 13 Rashtryia Rifles.

Both the injured have been hospitalised, he said. The reports, however, disclosed that the militants managed to escape from the area after 45 minutes encounter. Meanwhile, a civilian namely Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir of Hawal in Srinagar succumbed to his injuries after militants threw petrol bomb at the police party on Saturday evening at Dalgate in Srinagar.
