Police summon Bigg Boss Contestant

What Namitha Doing in Himachal Pradesh Faded out actress Namitha used to be one of the 14 contestants of Tamil Bigg Boss show. The channel had telecasted visuals of Oviya immersing herself into a pool on August 4.

The complainant has asked the police to launch an inquiry into her alleged suicide attempt. The complainant further alleged that her suicide attempt was triggered by depression caused by the activities forced on her by the producers, the show's host and Vijay TV.

"We have recorded the complaint in the Community Social Register", Inspector Jaichandran, Nazarathpeth police told The Hindu. She left the Big Boss house last weekend due to mental health issues.

Meanwhile as reported by the Hindu, Oviya's personal secretary while speaking to the police has denied that the actress tried to commit suicide during the show. However, she got eliminated a couple of weeks back.

According to a report in IBT, Unconfirmed reports had earlier claimed that Oviya was paid Rs 2.5 lakh per day for her stay in the Bigg Boss house.

A PIL was also filed in the Madras High Court asking the show to be stopped from being produced immediately as the sartorial choices and behaviour of women contestants is "vulgar and obscene".
