Football Is Returning As Arsenal Prepare To Welcome Leicester To The Emirates

For the first time since Arsene Wenger was hired in 1996, Arsenal finished outside of the top four last season.

Arsenal are reportedly "on the verge" of tying Mesut Ozil to a new contract, with the Germany worldwide indicating he is prepared to accept the £225,000-per-week deal on the table from the Gunners.

"Six players were out of contract".

The arrival of £25 million striker Kelechi Iheanacho has provided another dimension to Leicester's attacking threats, although the Nigerian global is expected to be eased into action by Shakespeare, especially as his ankle knock on his pre-season debut cut short his much-needed game time.

"When you are not completely in or the players feel you are not completely in, it is hard to tell them we go (out to win)".

Speaking on Alexis' future, Wenger seemed to suggest he would not leave the club during the current transfer window. The defending was their weak point a year ago, especially in goal, and at times it seemed as if Pep Guardiola was wondering what he had walked into.

Craig Shakespeare's side can take a lot of confidence from the fact that Arsenal themselves won't be fielding a full-strength XI, even if their B team is equally as capable. With no European football this year, Leicester can focus on the Premier League, but they've got a tough task in front of them to start the year at Arsenal. Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Gabriel have all been ruled out.

Arsenal may be close to ending one of their painful contract sagas after a report has claimed there has been a "huge breakthrough" in talks with Mesut Ozil, but Alexis Sanchez still isn't ready to sign despite apparently receiving another improved offer.

Out: Vicente Iborra (groin).

Shakespeare, however, could have Nampalys Mendy and Islam Slimani to call upon, following the pair's recent return from their respective injuries.

As usual, the Gunners have a massive injury list and a small squad to choose from. It will be interesting to see Lacazette make a mark on his debut for the North Londoners and Jamie Vardy put his name on the scoring charts to help Leicester get back to winning ways. I think, if you read the French papers, Kylian Mbappé is how they will look to finish their transfer market.

The mood around the Emirates once again started to go sour, as the home fans witnessed some trademark feeble defending.

Over 600000 Syrians have returned home
From January to July, most returnees were internally displaced or had relocated to Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq. The report indicates that an increasing number of Syrians displaced within the country appear to be returning home.
