Azadi train begins its countrywide journey


Apart from this, previous year Pakistan Railways also commenced Christmas Peace Train.

More than 100 labourers had worked to finalise the models based on cultural heritage of Pakistan.

The Azadi Train comprises of five spectacular art galleries, depicting the sacrifices rendered by people in the independence movement. It portrays the culture of the four provinces - Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa - and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

A Railway gallery to highlight architectural monument, style such as yellow stones, doom structure, colonial power majestic structure and grey sand stone structure.

According to the schedule released by the Ministry of Railways, the train will reach Peshawar Cantonment at 4:30pm.

The special Azadi train will leave for Lahore at 10:00pm on 15th of this month.

After a night stay the train will proceed from Khanpur at 8:30 am and will arrive at Sukkur at 8 pm. On August 13 it will depart the cantonment at 10:30 in the morning for Rawalpindi and will reach there at 7:15 in the evening. On 20 August will depart Sukkur at 9:30 in the morning and will arrive at Sibbi at 8 in the evening. Afterwards, it will arrive at Quetta at 7:00 in the morning. It's journey will culminate at Karachi Cantonment on August 25 after making stopovers at Nawabshah, and Hyderabad.
