Pence's official governor portrait revealed

Pence served as Indiana's governor from 2013 to 2017, when he was sworn in as vice president.

After landing at the airport, he will head to the downtown Indianapolis Marriott for the annual Ten Point Coalition luncheon.

Vice President Mike Pence is returning to IN, where he previously served as governor, to give a speech and attend the unveiling of his official state portrait.

Pence, along with second lady Karen Pence and Gov. Eric Holcomb (R), was present at the event, which marked a state tradition of gubernatorial portraits that goes back to 1869.

The public is invited to the ceremony which will take place in the South Atrium in the Statehouse. Doors will close at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Next, he will be at the Statehouse for the unveiling of his official Governor's portrait at 2 p.m.

"He thought that things are a bit more serious in Washington, D.C., than back here in the Hoosier state", portrait artist Mark Dillman told The Indianapolis Star.
