Atletico de Kolkata made one of the biggest signings in Indian Super League (ISL) history when it signed Irish football legend Robert David "Robbie" Keane, in a bid to secure its third ISL title.
Keane who is now 37 years old completed the formalities of the deal in Dubai and looks set to join up with Teddy Sheringham who is the manager of the Kolkata based club.
The former Ireland captain had been without a club since leaving LA Galaxy in November previous year.
In a press release, talking on his signing, Keane said, "I feel extremely fortunate to have played for some of the best clubs in England and the United States of America, as well as representing my country at several major tournaments".

Manufacturing employment increased by 13,700 on the month to give a 3.1% annual increase while construction jobs declined on the month.
He also added, "At this stage of my career, the offer to experience a new league and culture in Asia appealed to me".
Keane is the first of five foreign players allowed for an ISL side.
Keane has been without a club for nine months since leaving LA Galaxy and has been assessing his options in recent times. A talented, quick, and agile player, Keane is a versatile forward, capable of playing anywhere along the front line always searching to net those memorable goals.
Sheringham was quite clearly thrilled with his side's newest acquisition, "His enthralling skills with the ball and willingness to take on the opposition without inhibition is an asset for any team. I am sure it will be a great association and a learning curve for our entire team ATK", Sanjiv Goenka, principal owner of the club, said. "To join the current Indian Super League champions is a great pleasure and through hard work I hope to bring the ATK fans more success and enjoyment over the course of the 2017-18 season", Keane said.
