After a widely successful launch of the Google Pixel, which was considered to be Google's first phone actually developed by them in terms of software and hardware design (even though it was manufactured by a third party), Google is now looking towards its newest Pixel phone for this year, namely the Google Pixel 2.
The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are expected to be released late September.
From recent leaks of the Pixel 2, Google is expected to have a dramatic shift in screen display from its predecessor. Considering that the specs linked to the new Google Pixel 2 are expected to be extremely competitive, the lower price point of the device could have a serious impact on the smartphone market.
There are rumors spreading on the web that Google Pixel 2 and its bigger brother would be the first phones to launch with the yet to release Snapdragon 836 chipset on board. The screen for the Pixel 2 XL (Taimen) will also reportedly have an "always on" mode so similar to what Samsung has on the S8, you can set it to show specific notifications on display even if your phone is turned off.
Free movement of people to end in March 2019, PM's spokesman says
The immigration minister Brandon Lewis then contradicted Rudd, "insisting freedom of movement ends in the spring of 2019". The PM's spokesperson today said it was "wrong" to suggest free movement will "continue as it is now" after March 2019.
Learn Bonds reported that Google's new mobile devices will only come along with a USB Type-C port, which means users would have to go wireless via Bluetooth headphones. None of the listings contain any mention of the actual screen sizes of either the Pixel 2 or Pixel XL 2.
However, it looks like this is the next big thing when it comes to this aspect of mobiles so it will be interesting to see how Google justifies removing the headphone jack on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. And while that seems somewhat at odds with the fact this sized model will supposedly be made by LG rather than HTC, suggested uses include squeezing the phone as a shortcut to Google Assistant.
The first Google Pixel had one of, if not the best, phone camera out of all the phones that came out a year ago and even to this date. The next-generation Pixel device is expected to feature a 12-megapixel dual rear camera and a 7-megapixel front-facing camera. At the time, no further details are available about the Pixel 2B.
