Chelsea reportedly have a "serious and strong interest" in signing Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero from Premier League rivals Manchester City.

According to Sky Sports, Aguero has become one of the top targets for the west London club but recognizes that City will be reluctant to let him leave for Stamford Bridge.

They wanted Romelu Lukaku but the Belgian instead joined Manchester United from Everton for a fee of £75million.

When asked if Aguero was staying earlier this summer, Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: 'Absolutely.

Chelsea need to sign a striker after it emerged that Diego Costa had no future at the club despite playing a large role in the Blues' Premier League title triumph last season, scoring 22 goals in all competitions before being told by manager Antonio Conte that he was not in his plans. There's never been a doubt about that.

'Blazblue Cross Tag Battle' (ALL) Announced - Trailer
Announced at EVO 2017, the fighting game champions Arc System Works revealed BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle to the world. He'll arrive soon, as he'll be available as a downloadable character later this Summer.

Chelsea have also been linked with Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Torino frontman Andrea Belotti and Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata.

The Argentinian fell out of favor at the Etihad Stadium under Pep Guardiola last season, with the Spanish coach preferring 20-year-old Gabriel Jesus as his main striker.

Chelsea have the funds to put in a tempting bid to City for Aguero and to offer the striker attractive terms, while they may feel their status as Premier League champions could prove valuable in negotiations.

"My information is they do not want to sell Sergio Aguero".
