Pakistan announce Sarfraz Ahmed as Test captain

Mr Riaz Pirzada Minister for Inter-Provisional Coordination, Mr Ahsan Iqbal Minister for Planning, Development & Reforms, Mr Shahryar Mohammad Khan Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board, PCB officials, team management and civil dignities were also present on the occasion. Khan, taking a dig at Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said, "After our win, we challenge India to come and play bilateral cricket with us".

India and Pakistan have not played bilateral cricket since 2012 when the latter travelled across the border for a short limited-overs tour. "They say we'll play you in ICC matches but they won't play us otherwise", he was quoted as saying by the local media. The series will consist of three Tests, five ODIs and two Twenty20 Internationals.

Sarfraz Ahmed has been named Pakistan's Test captain following his success with the Champions Trophy-winning one-day side. The PCB claims that India owes it two home series which translates into millions of dollars for Pakistan cricket. The team began with a thumping defeat at the hands of India, but regrouped spectacularly to string together a succession of wins - beating South Africa and Sri Lanka in the league stages, England in the semifinal, and avenging the loss to India with a 180-run win in the final. They should now come to Pakistan, there is complete security.

Grizzlies paying tribute to departing Randolph
As owner Robert Pera pointed out, Randolph's arrival signaled the transition from a lottery mainstay to a playoff staple. The Grizzlies said thank you Thursday, in an open letter to the big man in which they plan to retire Randolph's No. 50.

"We need to build on this victory".

Shaharyar also hoped that global cricket will soon return to Pakistan. It's not enough, we need to go a lot further. He said he would not tolerate too many bouncers and would send them for fours and sixes whenever he got the chance.

The 30-year-old became Twenty20 captain after Shahid Afridi resigned following Pakistan's disappointing showing at the World Twenty20. He had long held the T20 captaincy, and took over the one-day job from Azhar Ali in February this year following Pakistan's poor showing on their tour of Australia.
