Bread-and-butter automakers aren't the only ones cashing in on the market's SUV craze.
The Bentley Bentayga has been a smash hit for the brand and rival Land Rover believes there's room within its portfolio to legitimately take on the ultra-luxury SUV. The new Range Rover model would sit above the brand's current flagship, McGovern told Autonews.
"Why not? We've realized that the Range Rover has got this big expanse across its price range, so it's not a very big step to get into Bentayga country".
Currently, the most expensive Land Rover is the long-wheelbase Range Rover, which stickers for $140,995.

The company has been teasing the smartphone for some time and just a few days back also said that the device was coming soon. The 12-megapixel dual autofocus rear camera has a f/1.7 aperture, while the 5-megapixel front camera has a wider f/2.2 lens.
The most recent comments echo what McGovern has said in the past: Range Rover has in no way "reached its ceiling in terms of price".
The motivation for a model positioned above the Range Rover may well be the sales success of the Bentley Bentayga. McGovern indicated that he would like to see additional Range Rover models join the lineup, admitting that their overlap in size is not a concern for him, likely referencing the closeness of the Sport and the recently launched Velar. He added saying that the two Range Rovers with the same size but with two different personalities will have the same appeal but to the different customers.
Bentley's Mulliner division has come up with what simply must be the ultimate fly fishing accessory: the Bentayga Fly Fishing by Mulliner.
McGovern is so confident that the Range Rover is enough to sweep the Bentayga buyers to their buyer. "Bentley doesn't have the pedigree and authenticity in that particular sector. We've got unquestionable pedigree", he noted.
