Trump announces he's being investigated

Trump's tweet that he's being investigated "by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director" may refer to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

Special counsel Mueller - a respected former Federal Bureau of Investigation director - was also bringing in legal firepower to investigate whether there was collusion between Trump's team and Russian Federation to fix the 2016 election or an attempted cover-up.

Friday's tweets are the latest in a week of angry social media responses by the president over a report by The Washington Post that Mueller was looking into whether Trump obstructed justice.

At a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing last week, Coats and Rogers refused to say whether Trump asked them to intervene in the investigation, which is also examining whether the Trump campaign team colluded with Russian Federation during last year's presidential campaign. "My decision", Trump told Holt, a day after the White House had said the president fired Comey based on a recommendation from Rosenstein.

The transition official said the organization has also separately asked the General Services Administration to preserve records from the Trump transition that were transferred to its facilities after Trump's inauguration. The questions included whether he had confidence in Rosenstein, whether he plans to fire special counsel Robert Mueller and how he knows he's under investigation by the FBI.

This tweet is significant because the president is now openly admitting that he is "being investigated", after insisting for most of this year, truthfully, that he was not.

Comey said he typed notes describing the conversations because he was anxious Trump "might lie" later about them.

Trump's tweets came after the top lawyer for his transition team warned the organization's officials to preserve all records and other materials related to the Russian Federation probe.

Hamilton was initially reluctant to discuss the incident post-race but felt his rival should have been given a tougher sanction. With the cars parked in the pit lane Hamilton and Vettel did not converse and the latter was able to take a new front wing.

Trump is under increasing pressure on the Russian Federation probe. An official of Trump's transition confirmed the lawyer's internal order, which was sent Thursday. He has already been subpoenaed by the House Permanent Select Intelligence Committee. Those associates include former national security adviser Michael Flynn, campaign chairman Paul Manafort, foreign policy aide Carter Page and outside adviser Roger Stone.

The order came the same day that Vice President Mike Pence hired an outside lawyer to represent his legal interests.

Trump may be referring to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who in a memo to Trump raised concerns over Comey's performance.

"Despite the phony Witch Hunt going on in America, the economic and jobs numbers are great".

In an interview with the Associated Press earlier this month, the Deputy Attorney General said he would recuse himself from overseeing the special counsel's investigation if his role in Comey's dismissal becomes relevant.

Trump wrote that the investigation has not "been able to show any proof", an allegation that he assessed with one of his signature Twitter catchphrases: "Sad!"

The furious early morning barrage of tweets - his second in as many days - came as the special counsel investigating Russia's influence over his election pieced together a high-caliber legal team and readied to begin interviews.
