GTA Online publisher goes after paid cheating services


Two more mod menus - Lexicon and Menyoo - are now displaying similar messages about closing and donating their earning to charity. An update that was provided also reveals that Take-Two's decision to ask for the shutdown of OpenIV followed after recent mods were proven malicious as they allowed for the harassment of players and ruin the "GTA" online experience for others.

Just recently Rockstar Games' parent company Take-Two Interactive sent a cease and desist order to OpenIV group, known for the famous OpenIV GTA Mod Tool, and the group has discontinued the GTA mod tool. Rockstar's parent company recently chose to ban the GTA 5 OpenIV mod and the community is now putting up a united front in its demand for the mod to be brought back.

After discussions with Take-Two Interactive, effective immediately we are ceasing all maintenance, development and distribution of [our] cheat menu services. At the time of writing over 39,000 reviews have been submitted recently, with majority being classed as "Overwhelmingly Negative".

This is not the first time that a hockey team player has expressed displeasure and sadness at the lives lost in the valley. This was the first game between the two sides, since the 2016 Asian Champions Trophy final, which India won 3-2.

Although GTA fans acknowledge that the three tools were enabling players to unfairly gain an advantage in the game instead of playing it in the correct way, they are angry that Open IV was shut down. A petition was launched at the end of last week on Change.Org calling for the OpenIV mod to be reinstated.

The next most popular Steam user review by RemyBrando said "Don't buy this, Take-Two Interactive is screwing it over with the online gameplay and anti modding policies". The developer has chosen to back down from fighting Take-Two on the subject, however. Of course, there's no telling if reaching its goal will have any actual impact on Take-Two.

The community has been up in arms, bombing the game's Steam listing with over 41,000 recent reviews that have an aggregate score of "Overwhelmingly negative". What charity that might be, and how much money will be donated, isn't clear.
