I know there are people that expect the team and myself to do well every time that we play, but I understand as a player and as a person that it's not possible.

Pakistan smashed the highest total in a Champions Trophy final - 338-4 that included a maiden century from opener Fakhar Zaman - after being made to bat first by defending champion India at The Oval on Sunday. India beat Pakistan in their opening game of the tournament by 124-runs, by Pakistan have shown unambiguous signs of revival since then.

But, as they have done many times before, Pakistan suddenly found their form with wins over top-ranked South Africa and Sri Lanka before delivering an outstanding all-round display to stun hosts England in the semi-final. However, he wrote that if the conditions are cloudy and overcast on the morning of the final, captain Virat Kohli might consider bringing in an extra seamer.

"The turnaround has been magnificent", Kohli said. "Amir bowled brilliantly but all my bowlers bowled really well".

Pakistan's unexpected journey to the final of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy has more than one similarity to their 1992 World Cup triumph which was also a major upset of sorts.

Pakistan: Azhar Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Junaid Khan. Not surprisingly, given the jingoistic atmosphere that prevails now, another has the nerve to say, "Calling it a match will not do justice - it's war!'"

The victory was achieved by one of the most de-glamorous outfits under one of the most unassuming captains in the history of Pakistan cricket, Sarfraz and he deserved it more than anyone else for showing the composure one expects from model captains.

Football games to be reduced to 60 minutes?
The International Football Association Board (Ifab) - football's rule-making body - are set to propose the revolutionary new idea. The document also says that match officials should be stricter in ensuring that goalkeepers obey the "six-seconds" rule.

"We don't take any opposition for granted and we are looking to play some great cricket here". Imran's teammate and close ally, Javed Miandad said the Champions Trophy final could prove to be the gateway for restoration of bilateral cricket series with India.

"What we've produced after that doesn't come as any surprise, because that's how we trained, and that's what we worked at", Arthur told reporters at The Oval on Saturday.

"It's been an up and down ride for us but I'm so proud of the boys", Arthur said.

For Pakistan the plans are in place but it would only be revealed at the ground. He confirmed that M Aamir is fit to play the final but added that a decision has not been on which player to bench for the final. "We are aiming to win this tournament", he said.

Kohli announced to the press during the week that he had limited the use of social media within the camp during the competition, yet the internet is set to implode when these two sides collide in a much-anticipated contest set to raise the temperature further on one of the hottest days of the English summer.
