The winning numbers were were 20, 26, 32, 38, 58 and the Powerball number 3.

The jackpot for Wednesday's drawing will be 40-million-dollars. It was not immediately known where the ticket that will claim the 10th largest lottery prize in USA history was sold, according to Powerball spokesman Randy Miller.

A small liquor store located 70 miles north of San Diego has vaulted into the history books for selling one of the biggest lottery tickets in history - a Powerball ticket worth about $448 million. Powerball is played in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

A Powerball player in California will take home the entire $447.8 million jackpot after matching all six numbers on their ticket in Saturday's drawing, lottery officials said. The jackpot for Saturday night's drawing would tie for the nation's 10th largest lottery prize.

The victor could take 29-year payout or a one-time, before-tax lump sum of $279.1 million. Those figures are just the amounts withheld up front; your final tax burden is likely to be even higher.

Also playing in the afternoon was Dustin Johnson , the defending champion and No. 1 player in the world, who opened with a 75. His best finish came in his first start at the event in 2013, when he tied for 10th at Merion. "I put it in the wrong places".

"We're so blessed for this to happen", said Matthew Alberee, who owns the store with his dad.

"We will not know who California's latest Powerball victor is until at least Monday morning at 8 a.m". It was a switch that essentially traded lower odds for increased payouts, such as Saturday night's $448 million victor.

The year began terribly for the family because Alberre's father was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis.

The store is at 27985 Bradley Road in the Sun City community in the city of Menifee.
