Beyonce's father Matthew Knowles has confirmed the singer and her husband, hip hop mogul Jay Z, are the proud parents of twins. However, they shared the good news with members of the family and close friends who later shared it with the media, according to to People.

Mother and babies remain hospitalized due to a "minor issue" which surfaced following the birth according to TMZ reports.

Beyonce's father has apparently confirmed that the USA singer has welcomed her twins.

They announced she was pregnant with twins in an Instagram post in February. "We would like to share our love and happiness", she wrote. She posted a photo showcasing her handsome baby bump with the caption, "We would like to share our love and happiness".

Noi siamo stati costretti a prendere una decisione che non avevamo pronta e quindi la risposta è stata negativa. Hanno sbagliato i toni, troppo esuberanti.

Popular Hollywood couple Beyonce Knowles and Jay Z have welcomed twins.

Just a few days before, former President Barack Obama seemed to hint that Bey and Jay Z were having twin girls.

However, Mathew Knowles has now beaten his daughter to the official confirmation of the newborn boy and girl's arrival - thus breaking what we consider to be the first-rule of baby announcements (aka you wait for the parents to move first). Obama said, "Jay and I are also fools for our daughters, although he's gonna have me beat once those two twins arrive".

The R&B singer also performed live at the Grammy awards in Los Angeles two weeks later, proudly displaying her baby bump in a motherhood-themed show.

She later announced her withdrawal on doctor's orders from April's Coachella Music Festival where she was billed to perform.
