Mamata's claim a lie: GJM chief Bimal Gurung

The GJM, which administers the semi-autonomous Gorkhaland Territorial Administration, revived the 110-year-old demand for a separate state after a police raid on the office of its chief Bimal Gurung.

"There is a terrorist brain behind this hooliganism". The protest turned violent since a lawmaker's son, Vikram Rai, head of GJM's media cell, was arrested and a house of a senior Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) leader, Binay Tamang, was allegedly vandalized last night.

The GJM supporters blocked the road near Dalsingpara tea estate in Jaigaon, choking the only road connecting India and Bhutan. "Today whatever is happening in the hills - Mamata is responsible for this", Ahluwalia said. "So many bombs and arms can not be gathered in a day", Banerjee told reporters, adding, "I am ready to sacrifice my life, but I will not allow Bengal to be divided". "These arms were not collected in a day, they were collected over time", she reportedly told the Deccan Chronicle. "The police and the security forces should immediately be removed from the hills as a confidence-building measure", Rai said.

The fresh clashes in Darjeeling over Gorkhaland statehood movement has claimed the lives of three people - a security personnel and two supporters of the GJM at the city's Singmari area. They are using the national flag for vandalism. "There are some other countries also helping", Banerjee said.

"The Centre must extend its full cooperation to us". Army contingents were present in Darjeeling in the morning, but later a heavy deployment paramilitary and police force personnel was made.

"Two of our comrades were killed in police firing". They (GJM) have stopped tourism, transport, drinking water supply and food.

"I would not say it's a legitimate demand or an illegitimate demand".

Russian Federation inquiry: I'm under investigation
Flynn was dismissed by Trump in February after it emerged he had misled Pence about conversations with the Russian ambassador. The five people spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

Coming down heavily on the GJM violence, Banerjee said: "We have come to know from the police that there is a link (of GJM) with terrorists". However, GJM supporters took out a procession on Saturday; when police stopped them, they hurled stones and bottles. "We want judicial inquiry into the firing".

She repeatedly urged the people of the hills not to pay heed to Gurung and withdraw the indefinite bandh. "Tourists may face problems", said Bimal Gurung. He is a corrupt leader. "Hooliganism and talks can not take place at the same time", Mamata said. "Now when the term is about to end, you have started violence because you have lost your credentials", she said.

The GJM announced an indefinite strike from Monday encompassing Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts and the Dooars protesting against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's decision to make Bengali language compulsory in state-run schools. Political party can talk to any other party. The central government should come out with a concrete solution for the formation of Gorkhaland. We can not support hooliganism, vandalism.

"Although we are fundamentally supporting small states, each case has to be examined in its own light, and certain sensitivities, being borderline states, they have to be taken into consideration".

"I appeal to the people living in Darjeeling and nearby areas to remain calm and peaceful. It has to be thoroughly examined", the daughter of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said.

"There is no such meeting on June 19".
