Beyonce and Jay Z 'celebrating birth of twins'

On Father's Day, Beyoncé's father, Mathew Knowles, confirmed the baby news on Twitter, writing, "They're here!"

"He captioned the picture "They're here!" and added the hashtags "#beyonce #jayz #twins #birthday #happybirthday". Several reports say Beyonce delivered twins earlier this week and have shared the news only with close family and friends.

Beyonce and Jay Z got married back in 2008, and have kept quiet about the details of their arrivals since the announcement.

This hearty news comes days after Jay Z and Blue Ivy were spotted at a Los Angeles hospital, which triggered speculations that the pop star had gone into labour.

Lemonade singer Beyoncé, 35, famously announced her pregnancy with an Instagram post in February. "We would like to share our love and happiness", she wrote. And according to US Magazine, Bey and Jay were "thrilled" to welcome one girl and one boy, meaning lucky Blue has a new brother and sister. The Instagram post immediately broke the internet, getting more than eight million likes in the first 24 hours, and smashing the Guinness World Record to officially become the most-liked post in the site's history.

She made a number of red carpet appearances while carrying the twins, and documented her pregnancy via social media to the joy of her legions of adoring fans. Always showing off her baby bump in glamorous style.

"There's no words that can express having a baby growing inside of you", she said.

Beyonce also pulled the plug on plans to perform at the Coachella festival in California in April 2017 upon doctors' advice, and Lady Gaga stepped in for her. According to reports, in May, she hosted her baby shower, which she called, "Carter Push Party".
