Shahbaz Sharif says biased JIT targetting his family

However, CM's spokesperson clarified that the CM has not been summoned to appear before the JIT, but he was called by the panel for his similarity with the "Hudabiya paper Mill case".

In its application, the JIT had alleged that witnesses were being tutored at the behest of the Sharif family and confidential letters were being leaked by misusing the PM House.

This is also borne out by the fact that the JIT submitted a report before the Supreme Court bench levelling serious but unsubstantiated allegations of tempering of evidence by some governmental institutions, a charge that complements claim of PTI that no fair inquiry is possible if the Prime Minister does not step down, at least till completion of the investigation.

Nearly a similar security arrangement was in place around the vicinity of FJA building that was provided when PM Nawaz appeared before the JIT on June 15.

"We have the same assets as we had during tenure of former president Pervez Musharraf", Nawaz said, adding that fake cases were registered against them in Musharraf's tenure.

"I have presented my stance before the JIT".

"First time in the history of country, an elected PM appeared before JIT and the history is rewritten when an elected Chief Minister has turned up today", he said.

If that were the case, he said, he would try grocery delivery, though his bias was toward picking out produce and meats himself. Amazon seems to value speed, she said, and that's not necessarily consistent with wonderful customer service.

He was accompanied by his son, Hamza Shehbaz, Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to the JIT secretariat.

He stressed that his family has served the objective of rule of law in the country by appearing before the JIT formed by the Supreme Court to probe into the Panama Papers case.

The Punjab Chief Minister said there are no corruption cases against his family and the case before the JIT belongs to their personal business.

His eldest son Hussain was questioned five times while Hasan, the younger son, was summoned twice.

The Supreme Court had asked the government to respond to the allegations against the departments.

The JIT team is headed by Federal Investigation Agency Additional Director Wajid Zia, and includes members from Inter-Services Intelligence, Military Intelligence, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, State Bank of Pakistan and the National Accountability Bureau.
