Fire Burning in Wrightwood Area Prompts Evacuations, Road Closure


The San Bernardino County Fire Department is assisting the National Angeles Forest and Cal Fire with structure protection. The vegetation fire, dubbed the Zermatt Fire, was reported shortly before noon near Zermatt Road and Pacific Crest Drive, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

He says the fire should be contained at around 7 acres and that no homes have been damaged.

"It's looking pretty good right now", Judy said.

The fire was burning on Lone Pine Canyon Road in the San Gabriel Mountains, confirmed Ryan Vaccaro, a San Bernardino County Fire Department spokesman.
